The Original Aromatic Tankard - Unleash the Aroma!

It’s widely accepted that 70–80% of what we perceive as “taste” actually comes from smell.

In today’s craft-beer world, glass dominates brewery shelves and taprooms—but the smooth walls of glassware make it difficult for CO₂ bubbles to form and rise, which limits aroma release. Add to that the fact that beer is usually served chilled, further suppressing aroma, and the result is that most beers never reach their full flavour and aromatic potential. Until now.

Aroma Enhancement for Pilsners & Pale Lagers

For our first Aroma Drinkware release, we set out to elevate Pilsners and Pale Ales, bringing them to life with a next-level boost of aroma and flavor.

We use carefully selected Western Red Cedar, a wood that naturally breathes, paired with Big Leaf Maple rims and bases. The interior is coated with pure beeswax, allowing aromatic compounds from the cedar to be gently absorbed.

The beeswax acts as nature’s version of a breathable, waterproof membrane—absorbing and slowly releasing cedar scent molecules over time. Its micro-textured surface also encourages the release of significantly more CO₂ as the beer is poured, enhancing aroma and unlocking a fuller, more vibrant flavor.

Each Wolfwood Tankard is crafted from windfall and sustainably sourced lumber, milled right here in Tofino.

AromaDor Science by Wolfwood (Patent Pending)

Every Wolfwood Tankard comes with an AromaDor™ cedar storage box. Made from the same Western Red Cedar as the Tankard, the box naturally transfers Cedar aroma molecules back into the beeswax, recharging the scent between uses.
